Join the Arizona Rural Health Office staff at the 3rd Annual CAH Performance Improvement Summit at the new Rancho de los Caballeros Resort in Wickenburg. The conference is made possible with funding from HRSA Office of Rural Health Policy to the Arizona Rural Hospital Flexibility Program, University of Arizona Zuckerman College of Public Health.
Come learn, share, plan, and maximize the opportunities offered through the Critical Access Hospital designation from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 5, 2008. Plan to arrive early and network at the conference reception from 6 to 7:30 p.m. hosted by the Arizona Rural Health Office in the same location.

Three hospitals from Arizona have joined a seven state initiative to learn about and development quality and performance improvement tools and techniques that support the existence of strong quality and performance programs in the small hospital environment. This session will address the referral process Indian Health Services uses with non I.H.S. providers, as well as the contractual agreement procedures that make them possible. I.H.S. struggles to meet increasing health care needs with an under-funded budget. The session will contribute to understanding of how this federal system works.
