Gold Standard Performance
Thursday, April 19, 2007
8:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m
University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix
600 E. Van Buren, Room 2208
(plus videostreaming from 9:00-11:00 a.m.)
Who Should Attend: CEOs, CFOs, DONs, Department Managers, Physicians, Financial Performance Personnel
Purpose: The critical access hospital designation has improved reimbursement and has been very beneficial to a significant number of rural hospitals nationwide. But does achieving CAH designation guarantee financial success? This session will demonstrate that CAH designation is not a “cure-all.” Instead, it is the beginning to a new journey in a complex health care environment. Participants will learn key strategies for achieving “gold standard” performance by reviewing financial and operational characteristics of the most financially successful CAHs in the nation.
Learning Objectives
After completing the program, participants will be able to:
• Describe the key financial gold standard performance strategies.
• Describe the key operational gold standard performance strategies.
• Describe the key attributes of effective leadership for an engaged and performing workforce.
• Describe the key attributes of hospital/physician relationships and the connection to achieving improved financial performance.
• Describe the link between “gold standard” performance and how it affects capital and debt capacity in a CAH.
Cost: The seminar cost is $25 to pay for food. Reimbursement for mileage (one car per hospital) and food will be available for Arizona CAHs. There is no cost to participate in the videostream portion.
